EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 71

POSTHUMOUSLY RETIRING WITH GRATUITY THE LATE CAPTAIN JACINTO LORENZO, FORMERLY FIRE BRIGADE COMMANDER OF THE CITY OF MANILA.

I, JOSE P. LAUREL, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the authority conferred upon me by Act No. 58, entitled “An Act Providing for the Retirement with Gratuity of Members of the Fire and former Police Departments, including Provincial Guards of the various Provinces, Chartered Cities and Municipalities,” and upon recommendation of the Mayor of the City of Manila and the Vice-Minister of Home Affairs, do hereby order the posthumous retirement with gratuity of Captain Jacinto Lorenzo, late Fire Brigade Commander of the City of Manila who died of disease contracted while in the performance of duty on May 10, 1944, at the age of 65 years. The gratuity herein granted shall be paid to his heirs.

The late Captain Jacinto Lorenzo rendered, efficient, faithful and continuous service for forty-two years in the Fire Department of the City of Manila and is, therefore, deserving of the gratitude of the government and people of this City.

The Mayor of the City of Manila is hereby directed immediately to take such steps as may be necessary to implement and carry into effect the purpose of this Order.

Done in the City of Manila, this 10th day of July, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and forty-four, and of the Republic of the Philippines, the first.
