EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 74

PROVIDING QUARTERS, GOVERNMENT-OWNED OR RENTED, FOR PROVINCIAL
GOVERNORS AND CITY MAYORS

By virtue of the powers vested in me by law, I, JOSE P. LAUREL, President of the Republic of the Philippines, do hereby order that –

When a provincial governor or city mayor has no house of his own in the provincial capital or chartered city where his office is located, he shall be provided with quarters in kind, the same to include actual and necessary cost of light and hydrant water; Provided, however; That where no government-owned building is available or suitable for the purpose, the provincial city government concerned may have one leased therefor, in which case the rental charge payable from government funds shall, subject to prior approval of the Minister of Home Affairs, not exceed ₱100.00 per month, such amount to be paid directly to the owner of the building or house so leased.

Any provision of law or regulation inconsistent herewith is hereby amended or repealed accordingly.

Done in the City of Manila, this 27th day of July, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and forty-four, and of the Republic of the Philippines, the first.
