EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 79

AMENDING EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 39, DATED MARCH 4, 1944, “CREATING A CENTRAL HOUSING COMMITTEE TO TAKE CHARGE OF REQUESTS OF THE IMPERIAL JAPANESE FORCES FOR HOUSING ACCOMMODATIONS IN THE CITY OF MANILA AND TO ESTABLISH PROCEDURES  THEREFOR”.

Pursuant to the authority conferred upon me by existing laws, I, JOSE P. LAUREL, President of the Republic of the Philippines, do hereby promulgate this Order:

SECTION 1. The first paragraph of Executive Order No. 38, dated March 4, 1944, is hereby amended to read as follows:

“In order to extend the necessary facilities to the Imperial Japanese Forces in the Philippine whenever these Forces request for housing accommodations in the City of Manila and to establish certain regular procedures, I, JOSE P. LAUREL, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers in me vested by law, do hereby create and constitute a Central Housing Committee to be composed of the following:

The Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs – Chairman
The Vice-Minister of Public Works and Communications – Member
The Vice-Minister of Health, Labor, and Public – Member”

SEC. 2. This Order shall take effect immediately upon its promulgation.

Done in the City of Manila, this 4th day of August, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and forty-four, and of the Republic of the Philippines, the first.
