ORDER CONCERNING THE USE OF PRISONS
OF THE PHILIPPINES FOR THE IMPRISONMENT
OF PERSONS SENTENCED
UNDER MILITARY LAWS

March 10, 1942

To Mr. JORGE B. VARGAS
Chairman of the Executive Commission
of the Philippines
Manila

In case of necessity, the Imperial Japanese Forces will detain in prisons of the Philippines persons sentenced according to the Japanese military laws and regulations. The Executive Commission of the Philippines shall make all necessary arrangements, including provision for the guarding and the clothing and subsistence of said prisoners, in accordance with such instructions as may be given by the Chief of the Japanese Military Administration to the Commissioner of the Department of Justice.
