EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 37
DECLARING MONDAY, MAY EIGHTEEN, NINETEEN HUNDRED AND FORTY-TWO, A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY.
WHEREAS, in order to fittingly commemorate the happy event of the return to normalcy of the country after the fall of Bataan and Corregidor, public celebrations and flag parades will be held on Monday, May 18, 1942.
NOW, therefore, pursuant to the authority conferred upon me as Head of the Central Administrative Organization by Order No. 1 of the Commander-in-chief of the Imperial Japanese Forces in the Philippines, and in connection with Executive Order No. 20, dated March 20, 1942, I do hereby declare Monday, May 18, 1942, a special public holiday in order to give the officials, employees, laborers and other elements of the community opportunity to join the parades and celebrations.
