ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO. 1

CREATING A COMMITTEE TO STUDY AND SUBMIT RECOMMENDATIONS ON THE REDUCTION OF THE NUMBER OF PROVINCES.

In line with the policy to have a simpler governmental structure and to effect more economy in the expenditure of government funds, it may be necessary to reduce the number of provinces. To this end, a Committee is hereby created composed of the following:

Mr. Amando Bolaño, Assistant Director of the Bureau of Local Governments, Chairman.

Mr. Isaias Fernando, Assistant Director of the Bureau of Public Works, member.

Mr. Crispin Llamado, Assistant to the Commissioner of Finance, member.

The Committee shall look into the advisability of combining two or more provinces, of adding a part of one province to another, and of making such changes in the boundaries of the provinces as would carry out the purpose above referred to and best serve the public interest. It shall also make a recommendation as to what shall be the provincial capitals of the reorganized provinces.

The Committee shall submit its report and recommendations not later than July 15, 1942.
