NATIONAL ROAD NO. 1

This is to inform you that regarding the above matter, we have instructed the Commissioner of Public Works and Communications of your Commission by sending him an instruction letter, copy of which is attached herewith for your reference.

INSTRUCTION NO. 7

INSTRUCTION CONCERNING THE SPEEDING UP OF THE CONSTRUCTION OF UNFINISHED SECTION OF THE NATIONAL ROAD No. 1.

The construction of the unfinished section of the national road No. 1, Camarines Norte-Tayabas interprovincial road, Camarines Norte side, the length of which is about 15 kilometers, is considered urgently necessary and must be completed within the shortest possible time. This work, therefore, must be commenced immediately and carried out in accordance with the following schedule:

SCHEDULE

1. Section of the road to be constructed: From near the boundary line of the Province of Tayabas to the inner part of the Province of Camarines Norte, Camarines side.

2. Extension of the work: About 15 kilometers in length.

3. Date to start the work: Immediately.

4. Date to finish the work: The end of May, 1942.

5. Cost of the work: The estimated cost is 107,000 pesos.

The necessary loan for this purpose may be obtained from the Imperial Japanese Forces if the Commissioner of Public Works and Communications should take the matter up with the Department of Finance of the Japanese Military Administration.
