OF DAMAGED BRIDGE ON THE
RIVER UACON ALONG NATIONAL
ROAD No. 7

April 24, 1942

To Mr. QUINTIN PAREDES
Commissioner of Department of Public Works and Communications
Philippine Executive Commission

SIR:

Most of the slabs and piers of the above-mentioned bridge have been burned out and, as the consequence of which the transportation facility has been suspended. In view of the fact, however, that this national road is the only one in the western side of Northern Luzon, it is most urgent to complete work of reconstruction of the bridge promptly for the maintenance of peace and order and also for the development of the provincial industry.

We, therefore, have instructed the Hurukawa Kogyo Kabusiki Kaisya to take charge of said reconstruction work in place of your Department for the sake of convenience promising to pay them actual expenses. In this connection, you are instructed to pay them the expenses for the work, the amount of which will be advised you later.

For your reference, it is enclosed herewith one copy picture of the bridge.
